Walter's Old Favorites

These are some of my favorite photos. They are favorites for various reasons. Some of them might have different technical problems (exposure, slight blur, etc) but none-the-less they still remain my favorites. Many were taken with my Fuji S3100. Since Christmas 2006 when my wife bought me a Canon Digital Rebel XTi I've felt set free because of the control this technilogical wonder gives me over various photo elements. Please leave constructive criticism or notes about what you like about my photos using the comments function toward the bottom of the page.

  • Ahhhh. How relaxing. A calm, quiet, snowy morning at Bonneyville.
  • So peaceful. A calm, quiet, snowy morning at Bonneyville.

  • This was taken after an April snow shower. I like the color mix in this and the composition. I also like the contrast of the life reprented by the buds in snow which is usually associated with a season of death.
  • Another well timed shot of my nieces and nephews. The strong-man pose just cracks me up!
  • Gotta love kids & cheesy grins! This is a little over exposed because of flash used due to lighting conditions in the room.
  • I think I stood on a chair to get this shot of 5 of my nieces and nephews at this table during our family reunion.
  • I just like the wierd angles in this composition. The Eureka Springs book in the background also provides a clue as to where our family reunion was held. :)
  • Another well timed shot. Caught my nephew in mid-air! I don't think my uncle (just behind him) was too happy about him jumping onto the couch. :)
  • I love this shot because of the composition (angle and perspective). It was hard to get the exposure right without blur for this shot. Got it about as stable as I could at the angle I wanted for composition.
  • Same shot as the last but used flash. No blur but the exposure is messed up because of the flash. At least I caught the moment twice with the desired composition with a couple of lighting options. :)
  • My mom and dad helped the kids make rootbeer at our family reunion (summer 2006). Not sure why my dad looks so surprised. This was one of thos well timed family treasure shots.
  • Couldn't resist getting a shot of "The Golden Gate Bridge" of Arkansas. It's a one-lane bridge!
  • For some reason this shot just appeals to me.
  • My dad grillin' at our family reunion. Another well timed shot. Now that's grillin'! :)
  • Put my camera on my tripod and set the timer. Turned out pretty good but wish I would've had a remote (I do now with my new Canon). Me, my wife, mom, sister and nephew.
  • This was a "shoot now, ask questions later" shot which is why it's blurry. That's my sister's adopted son (from Russia) with his head out of the window of the train. I love the perspective of this shot.
  • I love trains and I like the angle of this shot.
  • This is a picture of my ticket from the trainride and the dime that got smashed by the train compared to a normal dime.
  • Just playing with a tripod and natural lighting for some Christmas tree shots. I love the warm glow.
